"From the Vanmark Commanding Images of the Civil War is the George Armstrong Custer statuette. Features General Custer in a calvary uniform and spurs with his sword drawn. Measures 4 x 4 x 10 high. Each Vanmark sculpture is individually numbered and is handcrafted from cold-cast resin. George Armstrong Custer of Ohio, 1839-1876, Union Custer was clearly one of the most colorful and controversial figures of the Civil War. Legendary cavalry commander, dashing romanticized character with great name recognition. He led numerous cavalry charges from Gettysburg. He became a Brigadier General, through most of the Virginia campaigns. By his own account, General Custer participated in almost every important battle or skirmish in which the cavalry of the Army of the Potamac or Shenandoah valley were engaged. He accepted the Confederate flag of truce at Appomattox. He died eleven years after the Civil War at the Battle of the Little Big Horn. No period in the history of our country created deeper passion--or greater heroes. Crafted in striking detail and precision, we are proud to present Commanding Images of the Civil War, featuring outstanding leaders from both sides of the war between the states. Commanders are brought to life through historically accurate dress, expression and stature. Resin statuettes stand proudly on richly finished wood platforms with engraved nameplates, lending a quality finish. Vanmark figurines are treasured by collectors across the country. Vanmark sculptures are renowned for their breath taking realism, expressions, and emotions."
